Lately....

I haven't been up to much lately--but I have been spending some quality time with a special someone! Brody is getting so big! I can't believe how fast he is growing. I honestly some days think he is going to skip crawling and just start walking! I can't wait until we get to go on play dates to all the nasty...germified...dirty....fast food play areas! Don't get me wrong, we will have lots of fun...I will just be the crazy lady chasing her nephew with hand sanitizer and spraying Lysol on everything before he touches it! Ahh the fun we will have! Those days will be here before we know it! Anyway....he seriously is the sweetest, most lovable baby boy....I know-I am not partial at all!
He found himself in the mirror!

Look at those long legs...and cute shoes!

Reading Business Week....in his sleep!

One last thing...I am ready for SPRING. Today's forecast...SNOW. I am very thankful for weather and all that it does, but Hello...it is MARCH. Enough said!
I hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend!

Birthday Boy!

We celebrated Josh's Birthday last night at our house! We had lots of fun! My dad made steaks (watch out Ruth's Chris) and my mom baked some potatoes it was all sooo delicious! Then of course we had our super good and super cute cake from Rick's Bakery!

Josh likes motorcycles and since I give him a hard time about the danger involved with riding motorcycles we thought we would get him one for his birthday.....on his cake!

Make a wish!

MARCH MADNESS!

Get your brackets out..it's tourney time!

I absolutely LOVE March Madness! I get very competitive when it comes to brackets...I mean VERY! I normally participate in a few pools and talk a little smack during it! I love the whole bracket thing because it is the only time I can beat the boys! I was never good at sports (my lovely sister got that gene!) but one sport I can do is the sport of bracketering!

Here is my final four...Louisville and Memphis, Pittsburgh and North Carolina! I pick Louisville to be the National Champions! Go Cardinals!

So, do any of you fill a bracket out? Who do you have picked to win?

I hope everyone has a happy Friday!

Sorry, I am a SLACKER!

No, I did not give up blogging for Lent! I am so sorry it has been so long since I have updated! My strike is over and I have LOTS of catching up to do!

I decided to start with Big Daddy and Brody. They are as alike as two peas in a pod. Brody looks like my dad.....sometimes it is scary how much they favor! I bet Brody looks at him and thinks to himself "hey, that guy looks like me!" My dad has been surrounded by very girly-girls for the last 24 years so needless to say he deserved a grandson! Brody already has my dad wrapped around his finger! I think they will great buddies, and will learn a lot from each other! I can't wait to see all the fun they will have together from playing football to hanging out in the "man cave!" I am sure they will make lots of good memories together!

We kept Brody the other night and like most nights my dad was studying(he is getting his MBA from the U of A....which by the way I happen to be very proud of him for doing that!) so he got Brody and sat him on the table so he could help Big Daddy study! The sight of them two looking at a Microeconomics book together was hilarious! Brody even did a little typing while he was helping him study!
learning a lot about Micro!

WARNING: Mute your sound! I can't stand to hear myself talk! But it is such a sweet video of Brody trying his best to type that I had to post it! For some reason I can't move the video over!

Brody loves to fly!

Having fun playing with Big Daddy on the floor!

Look at that sweet face, I could just eat him up!

Okay, so I promise to update soon and very soon! Have a great weekend!

Birthday Girl!

Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday dear Jennifer...Happy Birthday to you!

Today is my fabulous sisters birthday! I am so thankful to have such a wonderful sister. She is one of the most Godly, caring, loving, unselfish, forgiving, smart, fun, outgoing...person that I know. She is my best friend, and always has been ever since we were little girls! I Love how we can be so goofy together, and yet have the best heart to hearts. Jennifer has always tried to take care of me and look out for me, she is the best big sister and friend any one could ask for! I love her!

I have loved watching her be a wife and mommy. She does both with class and grace. She is Martha Stewart meets Wonder Woman. Jennifer loves Josh and their baby so much! It is so beautiful to see her eyes light up when she looks at Brody, she loves her little boy with all that she has! I am so proud of her!

You are the best and I love you so much sister! I hope you have a great birthday!!

Please visit Jenn's blog and wish her a happy birthday!

Shopping with my favorite little man and his birthday

Brody, Jennifer and I had a fun day today! We first had lunch together and then we went shopping for Brody! It is so much fun buying for a little boy! I do get frustrated sometimes that there is so much girl clothing to chose from and not so much boy stuff. I always call Jennifer while I am shopping for Brody and tell her how I am so tired of not being able to find things for him and that I am going to design a clothing line for little boys! Of course I haven't done that, but it would be nice to have more of a selection!

Today we went to a very trendy children's boutique called Bella Jacks. We found a cute little outfit for him and the cutest collection of socks that look like tennis shoes! So sweet! Then we went to TJ Max and got him the cutest shoes! Jennifer wanted him to be able to wear them when he starts walking so she got the 6-12 months. I of course thought he needed to be able to wear them now so I got the 0-6 months! Yes, it may be crazy for him to have two pairs of the same shoe but I really felt he NEEDED them! Ha! I also am a big Dallas Cowboys fan (hi Tony!) and I found a little Dallas Cowboy set that had a blanket, bottle, and outfit! He will look so cute in it cheering on Aunt Jilly's favorite team!! The clerk who checked me out told me Brody would not like me when he is older for making him wear the Dallas Cowboy outfit. I told her she was wrong and that he would love me more for putting him in it! (This is just a side note for all the Cowboy haters out there....my pastor is a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan, and he is a VERY, VERY Godly man who I think knows more about the Lord than most of us, and I honestly think the reason he chose to be a Cowboys fan was because he knew that is who the Lord cheers for! So y'all just remember that the next time you are hating on sweet Tony and his Cowboys! Ha!)

We had lots of fun today! I am so thankful for days like today where I get to spend time with my sister who just happens to be my best friend and my precious nephew! Did you know he is already FOUR MONTHS?! Wow, times flies by so fast when you are having fun! I feel so blessed to be Brody's aunt! I love getting to celebrate each month with him! It is so much fun to see how he grows from one month to the next! You can see more pictures of his four month birthday party here!

One last thing, everyone who knows me knows I am a HUGE boot fan! I would wear boots year round if I could! Well, I have been "looking" at these boots for a long time now. I haven't gotten them yet because they were 150 dollars and it was around Christmas so I felt I could spend that money on people other than myself. Well, I looked online and the ever-so-cute pair boots that will look fabulous with a great pair of skinny jeans or leggings are now on SALE for 79.99! I know, I am excited too! Also, if you know me, you know I don't normally wait on things to go on sale, so I think this is my reward for not buying them then!! I can't wait to get them and put them on, I am pretty sure when I do put them on a light will shine down from heaven!

Here a few picutres from our fun day!

He was so excited to about going shopping
"Do you have to kiss me in front of everyone?"

I hope everyone has a GREAT day! Get excited it is almost the weekend!

Ice Storm and Gas Station....

The title sums it up! What a "storm" it was. I could not believe the effect it left on NWA. Thousands of people are still out of electricity and it may be another WEEK before some regain electricity. Can you imagine? Thankfully, all of the ice has melted and it actually got up in the lower 60's today...Arkansas weather! Even though it was a terrible storm, the ice and snow made everything look so pretty! Here are a few pictures I took of my back yard, golf course and some trees around town.

look how thick the ice is!

these trees were so pretty

this was the prettiest tree, I pass it everyday on my way to work. Add Image the Hero's of the week!

No, this gas station was not hit by a tornado. However, the roof did collapse due to the weight on it from all the ice. One man was pumping gas when it collapsed, but thankfully he survived with minor injuries. I just happened to be pulling up to the traffic light that is adjacent to the gas station as the firetrucks and paramedics were pulling up, so I saw them pull the man out of the rubble. It was kind of scary to witness that!

I wanted to leave on a brighter note! Look at that sweet face!

I hope everyone had a great week! Please continue to keep the families with out electricity in your thoughts and prayers, as well as the men working diligently to restore power to them. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
